Here is everything you need to know about the Hillary Clinton private email controversy, explained in seven seconds.

For context: Last month, Clinton insisted that her decision to use a private email account, hosted on a private server in her Georgetown mansion, was motivated by "convenience" and was "allowed by the State Department." That runs contrary to the testimony Joyce Barr, the State Department's chief freedom of information officer, who appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday. "The message is loud and clear that that is not acceptable," Barr said when asked about Clinton's email practices.

Clinton has since deleted her server.
