New CNN Poll Confirms Old Free Beacon Poll: Nevada's a Dead Heat

Last week, we here at the Free Beacon scraped together our pennies and paid for a poll of Democrats in Nevada in order to get a sense of the state of the race out there. In a modestly surprising turn of events, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton were tied 45-45 among likely caucusgoers.

Because it was literally the only poll done in Nevada in months, the rest of the media picked up on the story. And because it was done by us, reliably liberal, partisan folks such as Rachel Maddow were forced to denounce it as mere troublemaking. In an extended rant on her primetime evening show, Maddow called into question the validity of the poll by attacking us—did you know that we are a "very, very conservative website"? Two verys!—and the company that conducted the poll.  She also did us a solid by highlighting the Free Beacon Store and our Hillary Clinton-themed walkers, a must-own if you're part of Hillary's base: elderly and infirm women who are terrified of the vigorous and youthful Bernie Bros marching across the nation.

Anyway, Maddow's ad hominem attacks didn't really do anything to disprove the validity of the poll. It was a mere tantrum designed to distract from the fact that Democrats are once again bucking the wizened Clinton in favor of an energetic and idealistic candidate who appeals to younger voters. And it's no wonder that Maddow didn't bother trying to disprove the poll on the merits! Because it looks like the Free Beacon wasn't simply pushing a false narrative trying to show Dems In Disarray™.

Turns out, CNN was also working on a poll. And what did the CNN poll show?

Oh wow, that's weird.

Overall, 48% of likely caucus attendees say they support Clinton, 47% Sanders. Both candidates carry their demographic strong points from prior states into Nevada, with Clinton holding an edge among women, while Sanders tops the former secretary of state among voters under age 55.

Huh, you don't say.

Anyway, we at the Free Beacon appreciate the support and passion of partisan ideologues like Rachel Maddow. Game respect game, and all that. And, once again, we must thank her for highlighting the goodies in the Free Beacon Store. Anytime you want, Rach, there's a "George W. Bush: Greatest Living President; Fantastic Painter" shirt with your name on it. It's on the house. Just have your people get in touch with the Truth Monkey's people. I'm sure he'd be delighted to hear from you.
