Dear Manning Brothers: Don't Rap Again

August 13, 2014

Peyton and Eli Manning can play football really well. They've won a few Super Bowl rings and they've made millions confounding defensive coordinators in the AFC and NFC, respectively.

Peyton has also shown his comedic acting chops by appearing on a legendary episode of Saturday Night Live as well as a plethora of TV commercials. His self-deprecating humor helps humanize him to the American public and gives him the kind of likability that advertising agencies crave in their spokesmen.

Last year the QB brothers surprised everyone with their "Football on Your Phone" rap advertisement for Direct TV, and it was pretty awesome.

However, Direct TV and the Manning brothers have violated one of the entertainment industry's most sacred laws: Leave them wanting more.

They've released a new rap video about Direct TV's Fantasy Football programming and it's fair to say that when it comes to the Manning's rapping, the thrill is gone:

I get that it's funny ... but at this point are we now laughing at them, instead of with them?
