A prominent American multimillionaire is promising to use her potential winnings from the Powerball lottery to subvert democracy by funding political campaigns, THE POLITICO reports:
Hillary Clinton told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Wednesday that she had joined the frenzy and purchased a Powerball ticket. What will she do if she wins?
"I’ll fund my campaign," she said laughing.
Unfortunately for Clinton, money in politics is no laughing matter. As Democratic frontrunner Bernie Sanders has explained on his campaign website: "The foundations of American democracy are being undermined" by "millionaires and billionaires" thanks to the "disastrous" Supreme Court decision on Citizens United.
Bernie Sanders does not love money as much as Hillary Clinton does. Maybe that's why he's going to be our next president.
