Actually, the Guy Who Emailed Marc Kasowitz Is a Real Dick

angry email

So, you know, note to self: don't email Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz unsolicited career advice. He doesn't care for it:

Marc Kasowitz, President Trump’s personal attorney on the Russia case, threatened a stranger in a string of profanity-laden emails Wednesday night.

The man, a retired public relations professional in the western United States who asked not to be identified, read ProPublica’s story this week on Kasowitz and sent the lawyer an email with the subject line: "Resign Now.’’

Kasowitz replied with series of angry messages sent between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Eastern time. One read: "I’m on you now.  You are fucking with me now Let’s see who you are Watch your back , bitch."

OK, so, to be one hundred percent totally undeniably irrefutably clear: Kasowitz shouldn't have responded like this because it's not the way semi-famous adults respond to strangers on the Internet. It just creates headaches. If we could see his inbox right now, I imagine we'd all shudder and recoil in horror.

But, also, you know what? Fuck the guy who sent Kasowitz that email. Fuck him right in the ear.

What kind of obnoxious prick thinks it's his duty to tell strangers how to live their lives? What jobs they should do? And to couch it in terms of "Hey, I'm just looking out for you, man, don't want history to think of you as a bad guy." You're not his friend, Random Email Hero. You're not looking out for his best interests. You're an angry crank with time to kill, a creep who gets his jollies by bothering people you don't know for reasons only your sick, twisted mind can appreciate.

As I mentioned earlier in the week, the worst thing about the internet is that it gives everyone this sense that they have to respond to everything, all the time. It's bad enough when that manifests itself on social media—where trolls and other sundry losers feel the need to slag on folks they've never met because, hey, they're just sharing their opinion, man. But it's somehow even more annoying to imagine them taking the time to sit down, look up the target's address, and send an email.

Again, Kasowitz should play it cool or whatever. But, honestly, part of me is glad that he told that random internet dickhead to cram it down his cramhole. No one cares what you think, stranger, and your posturing as some sort of selfless hero just looking out for the victim of your harassment makes you even more contemptible. Sod off.
